- Day 1: Cusco City
- The Must See Cusco Trip begins the moment you step off the plane in Cusco. Our airport shuttle will pick you up from the airport and take you to your Cusco hotel to drop off your luggage.
- Day 1 of the tour begins at 1:00 PM in Cusco, also known as the Imperial City. The tour begins visiting the Koricancha Temple, a preserved Inca palace and worship center in Cusco’s Historic Center.
- From there, the tour visits Plaza de Armas (the main square) later we will heading on to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress (15th century Inca ruins and Qenko – tambomachay archeological sites).
- After the tour, you will return to your hotel in Cusco.
- Day 2: Sacred Valley
- Day 2 of the Must See Cusco Trip is an 8-hour day trip that begins with pickup from your hotel at 8 AM. Then, we’ll take the scenic route through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, stopping at a picturesque Andean town.
- Then, we’ll continue towards Ollantaytambo, pausing at a scenic lookout to enjoy one of the best views in the Sacred Valley.
- At 12 PM, we will eat a traditional Peruvian lunch at a local restaurant (included).
- Afterward, we continue to the charming village and fortress ruins of Ollantaytambo. These ancient ruins are among the most important in the Inca Empire, serving as a pivotal victory location in a battle against the Spanish Conquistadors. The architectural site includes a fortress, platforms, and temple exquisitely built into the Andean mountainside.
- In the late afternoon, you will return to the hotel to relax and prepare for the next day’s adventure to Machu Picchu.
- Day 3: Machu Picchu
- Day 3 of the Must See Cusco Trip is a round-trip day adventure. It begins with a 2-hours driving, in the morning (3 or 4 AM) commute from Cusco to the Ollantaytambo train station.
- Around 6 or 7 AM, you will take a train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo.
- Our staff will be awaiting your arrival in the Machu Picchu Pueblo. Here, you will have about 30-40 minutes to organize your luggage and use the restroom before walking with your guide to the bus station.
- During the 5-minute walk to the bus station, your guide will show you recommendations for where to eat and how to find them from the bus station. You will have approximately 1 hour to eat after your Machu Picchu tour and before boarding the return train to Ollantaytambo later in the day.
- After arriving at the bus station, you will board a Consettur tour bus for a 30-40 minute ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The well-appointed buses offer a very comfortable riding experience. The spacious, soft seats offer the perfect place to enjoy views of the Andean mountainside through the large, panoramic windows.
- Upon arrival to Machu Picchu, we will help you prepare for your guided tour of the Inca Ruins. Our expert guides will give you lots of tips and historical details to ensure your experience and photographs of Machu Picchu are very memorable. The tour will begin around 10 or 11 AM and will last approximately 2.5 hours.
- After the tour, you will board a Consettur bus returning to the Machu Picchu Pueblo. It will leave between 1 – 2 PM and will arrive in the Machu Picchu Pueblo around 2:30 PM. You will have approximately 1 hour to have your lunch and explore the village before beginning the return trip to Cusco.
- Following lunch and exploration, you should go to the train station around 3 PM.
- At the train station, you’ll board the 3:30 PM for the return trip to Ollantaytambo.
- Arrive at the Ollantaytambo Train Station around 5:30 PM
- Complete the 2-hour commute back to Cusco’s Historic District and return to your hotel or transfer to the Airport
